Individually Guided Silent Retreat

10–14 February 2025 (Mon–Fri)

This individually Guided Retreat provides a wonderful opportunity to spend time alone and face-to-face with God. On each day of this SILENT IGR there will be a Holy Communion service in the Chapel and a short reflective talk, plus a one to one meeting with your allocated Spiritual Director for up to an hour. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy in silence with God, walk, pray, eat, be…..’ Please note that retreatants will be invited to be in silence from Monday evening until Thursday afternoon.

Who's speaking?

Becky Widdows

Becky Widdows worked as a spiritual director at Trinity College, Bristol for many years and at Lee Abbey as a lay chaplain. She now works freelance in spiritual direction, retreat work, Enneagram teaching and counselling.

David Widdows

David Widdows completed nearly forty years of ordained ministry in urban, suburban and rural parishes, including four years as chaplain at Lee Abbey. Since he retired in 2017, he enjoys living in Tiverton, being more available to his family and supporting Lee Abbey as Chair of the Devon Board.

Inger Denniston

Inger was a member of the Lee Abbey pastoral team for 5 years and is a regular pastoral helper. She  has also served as  a spiritual director for several years.  She loves gardening, birds and exploring God’s creation.  She and her husband James have two children and two grandchildren.

James Denniston

James is a former chair of the Devon Board of Trustees and Lee Abbey Chaplain (ordained 1993). Today he is a regular pastoral helper at Lee Abbey and a spiritual director trained in Exeter Diocese. He has a passion for walking and exploring Exmoor and the North Devon Coast.

Lauren Farrar

Lauren Farrar is a former nurse, midwife and health visitor. She was a member of the Pastoral Team on Community at Lee Abbey from 2014 to 2016 and continues to be involved as a Pastoral Helper. Lauren is a Spiritual Director and lives in the South West.
