At Lee Abbey, we believe in a God who made us, loves us with every fibre of His being, and longs to be invited to transform and renew us more deeply than we could ever do ourselves.

As His son Jesus Himself put it in John 10:10:

I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Jesus came to set us an example of how to live, and also to die and be raised to life again – defeating the power of death once and for all. Because of Jesus, we can personally know the awesome and holy God, and He too can have that intimate relationship with each of us.

God is near

Whether you have a strong faith or none at all, God can minister to you. Of course He can do that anywhere, but we find that at somewhere like Lee Abbey, the gentle nudges of the beautiful creation, Christian community and thoughtful programme can make His presence all the more tangible. We’d be delighted to pray with you here if you’d like us to.

Our church tradition

Lee Abbey has no fixed church denomination (although it has its roots in the Anglican church). We warmly welcome guests of all traditions, denominations and backgrounds. Our worship is modern, creative and varied, including older hymns, contemporary songs and elements from Christianity around the world.
