Writers’ retreat: waiting for our heart’s desire

1–3 November 2024 (Fri–Sun)

The Bible is full of stories of impatient people asking God, “When?” It’s a question many of us have fired at him. Waiting to see the yearnings of our heart come to be can test our patience but His timing is always perfect even if we are not always able to see it. With a blend of anecdotes, testimony, writing exercises and humour, we’ll look at how God breaks into our lives and gives us our heart’s desire and how it is never too late.

Who's speaking?

Ruth Leigh

Ruth is a novelist and freelance writer. She is the author of the Isabella M Smugge series, contemporary humorous page-turners with a heart; ‘A Great Deal of Ingenuity’- a collection of ‘Pride and Prejudice’ short stories, and a collection of poetry. She lives in rural East Suffolk with one husband, three children and one cat, and be found frequently speaking at churches, schools and groups about her passion for faith and writing.
