THEY SAW AND THEY UNDERSTOOD – CREATIVE WEEK

16–20 September 2024 (Mon–Fri)

There are many occasions in the Bible where something that can be seen is used as a teaching tool… think of Jeremiah being sent to watch the potter! Jesus very often used the things around him to help people understand what he was saying. As a Christian artist I often see people have an ‘Aha moment’ as they hear God’s word and see something I’m painting inspired by the same passage. This week we will use a biblical ‘visual aid’ to inspire some artwork each day. It will be suitable for beginners and experts alike.

Who's speaking?

Lynne Pugh

Lynne is married with four grown up children and lives near Andover in Hampshire. She has been a full-time artist for 20 years after M.E meant she could no longer continue teaching art in schools.. Working regularly Spring Harvest as the Artist in Residence, Lynne also leads watercolour classes on their French holiday site. She loves to work at Christian festivals and events, painting large pictures during worship, and leading workshops. Typically, her week is spent teaching adult art classes, painting commissions and also ‘pictures with a message’. You can see some of her paintings at www.lynnepugh.co.uk.
