As the newly appointed Senior Guardian of The Order of Mission and founder of Oikos Ministries in Peru, Mark brings his experience in overseas mission in Peru and the Amazon jungle and his passion for missional discipleship, cultural diversity and empowering the poor.

Mark Burgess
Mark Burgess is 47 and has been married to Anna since July 2003 and they have three lively boys, Daniel, 17; Joel, 15; and Kaleb 12. They have lived in Peru since 2007 as overseas missionaries and in 2010 started Oikos Ministries which now has two churches, one in Lima, and one in Pucallpa in the Amazon Jungle. Oikos Ministries also has an active food bank and two homework help and discipleship projects for poor and vulnerable children, both shanty town Peruvians and Venezuelan refugees. In January 2024 he became the Senior Guardian of The Order of Mission (TOM) a global family of leaders wanting to be modern-day missionaries. Mark is passionate about empowerment in the Holy Spirit, leadership, missional discipleship, cultural diversity and empowering the poor Mark loves sport, is a keen marathon runner, loves to follow rugby and football, and is a keen supporter of Leeds United, his hometown.
