Fees
All fees are subject to change. Prices include VAT where applicable. If the VAT rate changes, we reserve the right to alter our prices to reflect that change.
Substitutions and transfers
We are unable to allow substitutions as we often run a waiting list and therefore reserve the right to reallocate beds freed by cancellations. Transfers from one set of dates to another are not encouraged but may be considered under special circumstances, subject to availability. A single administration charge of £10.00 will be applied. Requests to transfer within 4 weeks of the start of a programme may incur cancellation fees.
Overseas visitors
You can book by telephone, email or fax, and pay by credit card. If you are travelling from Africa and a visa is required prior to entry into the UK, Lee Abbey will require full payment at the time of booking. Our published cancellation charges will then be applied should you have to cancel your booking or fail to arrive.
Extend your weekend: staying Sunday night
You are welcome to stay on for Sunday night after a weekend, subject to availability. On Sunday evenings there is no programmed activity and the meal is informal and shared with the Community.
Payment
We require a non-refundable deposit of 1/3 of the total cost at the time of booking, or full fees if booking one month prior to arrival. You will be required to pay the outstanding balance a month before arrival. We accept most credit and debit cards, or you can pay by cheque. Lee Abbey gift vouchers are also available – call us for more details.
Refunds and cancellations
If you wish to cancel your booking, we may refund a proportion of the fees payable by you. The amount we refund depends on how soon we receive your request to cancel prior to the date your booking was due to start. The amount we retain represents the reasonable cost to us of a cancelled booking.
- Earlier than 1 month before your booking starts — loss of deposit
- Between 1 month and two weeks before your booking starts - we will refund 50% of the fees paid to us
- Between 2 weeks and 1 week before your booking starts — we will refund 25% of the fees paid to us
- Cancellation later than 1 week before your booking starts — no refund.
Getaways
Why not come for a break? Get away for a few days, and choose dates to suit you. The price per night is the programme running at the time divided by the number of nights. This offer excludes Sunday night arrival and holiday periods.
Youth and children’s ministry
You will be sent registration forms with your booking confirmation. Please return these at least fourteen days in advance of your visit so that we can plan the programme around your child’s requirements. We may wish to contact you by phone to discuss any special needs requirements indicated on the forms. Please refer to the Young people and children page to see the provision we offer for your children.
Lee Abbey reserves the right to change the programme at its discretion depending upon the weather conditions and resources available at the time. Please be aware that you are responsible for your child at all times during your stay with us. All under-18s must be booked in with an adult.
Disability access and special needs
We will always take all reasonably practical steps to accommodate people with a disability. We provide:
- A hearing loop system in our two main meeting rooms
- A lift serving the ground, first and second floors (but not the third floor; if you will need to use the lift, please ask when booking)
- A fully equipped bathroom suitable for people with a disability
- Ramps for access to the Dining Room and Octagonal Lounge.
However, the layout of this Victorian building makes wheelchair access to some areas of the House difficult. If you cannot climb stairs, please tell us at the time of booking. We are unable to offer care ourselves, so it is essential that you bring your own carer if you will need this attention. We will offer your carer a 20% discount off the full brochure price (proof may be required of their status as carer).
We aim at Lee Abbey to ensure the health and well-being of all our guests during their stay and will endeavour to do all that is reasonably practicable and within our control to achieve that aim. To that end we would respectfully request that any guest that has any need for assistance or action on our part due to allergies, mobility, hearing or sight impairment to make their needs known in writing, as well as on the registration form, to the Bookings Team at least 30 days prior to their visit. All such information will be treated in confidence. With regard to allergies, whilst every effort will be made to meet the individual needs of guests we cannot guarantee that Lee Abbey will be allergy free as there are too many variables over which we have no control. Sadly, we are not able to guarantee one-to-one support in any circumstances.
Meals and special diets
Our Kitchen Team works hard to produce high quality ‘home cooked’ meals, including provision for special diets. Guests and Community eat together in the Dining Room. We cater for vegetarians and we also cater for any medically essential diets. Please indicate your needs at the time of booking. Some midweek or whole-week programmes may include a candle-lit dinner, at which you can dress up if you wish, but there is no requirement to do so.
For our younger guests, some holiday weeks may provide for earlier evening meals. Please ask about arrangements when you arrive.

Other things to note
As part of our desire to be God’s welcome, our programmes are open to all of every background, regardless of race, culture, gender or religious affiliation. Lee Abbey Fellowship is a Christian charity to which the exemption for religious organisations in paragraph 2 of Schedule 23 to the Equality Act 2010 applies. Although the vast majority of programmes run as advertised, we reserve the right to make changes to the speaker, title or programme content where it may occasionally become necessary. If these changes are significant, we will inform those already booked.
Personal information we collect when booking is used for Lee Abbey purposes only, and is not passed on to others. If you wish to have your details removed from our system, please contact the Bookings Office.
We may occasionally take photographs/video during your stay, to be used for our publicity, both in print and on our website.
Taxi pick-up service
If you wish to use the taxi service from Taunton, this service MUST BE PRE-BOOKED before your arrival date. Please contact Lee Abbey on 01598 752621. The price includes either 1 suitcase or 1 holdall per person. If you are bringing extra luggage, a guide dog or a wheelchair please let the bookings team know in advance as this may incur an extra cost. If you are delayed you will need to make your own arrangements to get to Lee Abbey. No refund can be made. We can now offer a taxi service in the holiday weeks, Saturday to Saturday.
