Sam & Rachel Chaplin work as professional musicians – Sam has recently released an album of his music ‘Back into Life’ and performs across the UK with his jazz band, Jazzbomb. For 10 years he has been the musical director for ‘The Choir with No Name’ in London, a choir for people whose lives have been affected by homelessness and leads song-writing workshops in prisons and for people with disabilities. Rachel is an international concert oboist, performing and recording with orchestras and ensembles. She tours regularly with Sir John Eliot Gardiner’s English Baroque Soloists, and also composes her own music.
Sam & Rachel are passionate about sharing their love of music and enabling people to find their own voice, bringing freedom and authenticity to their worship. They led a community choir together based out of their home church St Paul’s Hammersmith for four years and are looking forward to bringing their enthusiasm and experience to the community at Lee Abbey.
