Kelvin Burke

Originally from Northern Ireland, Kelvin is an Anglican minister and Healthcare Chaplain. Ordained in 1999 and licensed as NHS Hospital Chaplain in 2006. After his time as Priest-in-charge in Wakefield, Kelvin was called to Minister in Healthcare Chaplaincy, starting out as Honorary Chaplain at Pinderfield’s Hospital where he had been an inpatient for ten months in 1979/80 following a Road Traffic Accident which left him paraplegic. He was appointed Chaplain at Leeds Teaching Hospitals during which time he attained a Masters in Theology.
In 2010 he moved with his wife Jennie and three teenage daughters (Chloé, Katie and Ellie) to the Isle of Wight, and after a short time was appointed Senior Chaplain of Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Mountbatten Hospice. He retired from whole time chaplaincy in 2018.
