When you come and join us as a guest at Lee Abbey, you will gather together daily for three meals in the dining room. In addition, morning and afternoon tea and coffee are provided.

The meals are lovingly prepared and served for you by members of community.

Meals

The menu is simple but wholesome, with ‘family style’ meals cooked and served at shared tables by the Community. The main meal is the same for everyone with vegetarian preferences and special diets catered for. Please let us know when booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

There will be a self-service breakfast with hot and cold options, a sit down lunch (packed lunch on Wednesday) and a two-course dinner in the evening.

Occasionally meal times vary, but usually we serve meals at:

  • Breakfast: 8.15 – 9.00 am
  • Lunch: 12.45 pm
  • Dinner: 6.30 pm

Tea and coffee is served mid-morning (11.15 am) and mid-afternoon (4.00 pm). If you’d like to make yourself a hot drink at any other time, please use the guest kitchen on each floor.

Special Diets

Provision will be made for special diets. We can cater for all common diets (Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free) and any allergies, intolerances, medical and other essential diets wherever possible.

Please tell us your needs when you book, so that we can plan accordingly. To cater for you the best we can we will need to be informed in advance and given as many details as possible (e.g. severity). We may contact you to clarify your special diet.

If your diet changes before your arrival, please contact us as soon as possible. On arrival you will be given a name badge and on the back of this will be your special diet number or letters (e.g. GF for Gluten Free, VG for Vegan).

IMPORTANT NOTE: All our food is stored and prepared in an area which contains major allergens, including celery; cereals containing gluten – including wheat, rye, barley and oats; eggs; fish and shellfish; lupin; milk; mustard; tree nuts – including almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, brazil nuts, cashews, pecans, pistachios and macadamia nuts; peanuts; sesame seeds; soybeans; sulphur dioxide and sulphites. If you inform us of a specific food allergy or intolerance, we will do our best to ensure contamination does not occur. But we can’t guarantee that food prepared in this area is completely allergen-free. If you have any questions, please ask to speak to one of our kitchen supervisors. Thank you!
