Here at Lee Abbey we are passionate about communicating the life of Christ to children and young people; as well as to our own children who are part of this Community. We seek to encourage all young people to live a ‘life of discovery’: discovering more about themselves, each other and God.

One of our greatest joys is to hear the testimony of our young people, to hear how God is working in their lives, and to be alongside them on their faith journey. Recently we were able to mark the baptism of one young lad on a clear and bright October afternoon at Lee Bay, with the waves crashing in the glorious sunshine Will was baptised in the sea. He was a young lad staying with us for our half term week, who made the decision to be baptised and to commit his life to God, knowing that his life was wrapped up in Christ. It was a great celebration and a privilege for us to support him in making his promises to follow Christ, as we welcomed him into God’s church family.

Young people have much to contribute and much to teach us. And Jesus is quite clear on the value he places on young people in the Gospels.

We want to affirm all children in who they have been created to be; to help them discover the gifts that God has placed within them. As we also desire to welcome every human being who comes through our doors with the love of Christ.
