When you come and join us as a guest at Lee Abbey, you will gather together daily for three meals in the dining room.

The meals are lovingly prepared and served for you ‘family-style’ at shared tables by members of community.

Meals

We serve a set menu of tasty, home-cooked meals using locally sourced ingredients with plenty of vegetables. Our menu also includes some international flavours, but any spiced dishes are kept very mild. The meals are the same for everyone with Vegetarian, Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free requirements and common Allergens catered for.

Meals are usually served at the following times:

  • Breakfast: 8.15 – 9.00 am
  • Lunch: 12.45 pm
  • Dinner: 6.30 pm

There will be a self-service breakfast with hot and cold options, a hot lunch (packed lunch on Wednesday) and a two-course dinner in the evening.

Tea and coffee is served mid-morning (11.15 am) and mid-afternoon (4.00 pm). If you’d like to make yourself a hot drink at any other time, please use the guest kitchen on each floor.

Special Diets

We cater for Vegetarian, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free and common Allergens.

Please tell us your needs when you book, so that we can plan accordingly. If your diet changes before your arrival, please contact us as soon as possible. Unfortunately, our small volunteer team are not able to cater for complex diets or intolerances, or for personal likes or dislikes.

On arrival you will be given a name badge which will have a number or letter on the back identifying your special diet. Occasionally, we may contact you to clarify your special diet.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  All our food is stored and prepared in an area which contains all major allergens (including celery; cereals containing gluten – including wheat, rye, barley and oats; eggs; fish and shellfish; lupin; milk; mustard; tree nuts – including almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, Brazil nuts, cashews, pecans, pistachios and macadamia nuts; peanuts; sesame seeds; soybeans; sulphur dioxide and sulphites). If you inform us of a specific food allergy, we will do our best to ensure contamination does not occur but we can’t guarantee that food prepared in this area is completely allergen-free. If you have any concerns about allergens please ask to speak to our catering manager before your arrival.
