The Field Rules
The Field is led by a team of volunteers whose aim is to provide everything necessary for an enjoyable camping holiday. Therefore, there are simple guidelines to follow during your time on The Field:
- No alcohol or illegal drugs (no ‘legal highs’ either!)
- No smoking or vaping in or around the tents
- No knives over the UK legal limit (the legal limit is ‘a knife with a folding blade 3 inches long (7.62 cm) or less, e.g. a Swiss Army knife’)
- The cliffs are dangerous, therefore no cliff climbing
- The tides change quickly, swim only during tide times displayed on the notice board in the marquee
- Quiet on site before 8am and after 11pm – if you’re up and want to chat, please do so in the Chapel tent to let others rest
- No open-toed shoes in the Fire Shelter
Anyone breaking these rules, or endangering themselves or others on The Field may be asked to leave
Arrivals and Departures
Campers can arrive from 2:00pm on the first day of camp, with our main programme starting with afternoon tea at 4:00pm. On the final day, campers will need to have packed up and left the site by 11:30am. If you know you are going to be delayed and unable to reach the camp before 10:00pm, please telephone Lee Abbey on 01598 752621 to let us know. There is no direct telephone link with the camp, but a message will be passed on to the camp leaders when received.
Coach
The coach will leave Taunton railway station at 2.00 pm on the first day, and return in time for 2.00 pm on the last day of The Field. (You must pre-book your spot on the coach.)

Facilities and Accessibility
On The Field we live simply. We have very little phone signal here, no WiFi either, and we’ll cook your food over an open fire. We offer hot showers and proper toilets, both of which are cleaned daily and have ramps to provide disabled access.
Please be aware ‘The Field’ is held on a working sheep field and therefore the ground is uneven.
If you have any further questions about the accessibility of our site, please get in touch with a member of our team via the contact page.
