The Beacon Activity Centre is looking for qualified instructors who have a heart and passion for young people, the great outdoors and for leading adventurous activities. Our vision is to enable visitors to ‘Discover more about themselves each other and God.’

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join the Beacon team as a senior instructor. You will be required to deliver a range of activities, including, climbing, zip wire, crate stack, bushcraft, archery and orienteering to ensure our ongoing high-quality delivery, in line with our AHOEC Gold Standard and Learning Outside the Classroom awards. Other responsibilities will include: training and mentoring instructors, planning sessions and developing resources, and undertaking of regular safety checks.

You will need previous experience and qualifications in outdoor activities, especially in climbing or high ropes and you can receive further training onsite alongside opportunities to gain further relevant qualifications.

As our senior instructor, you will be working and living as part of the Christian Community at Lee Abbey, Devon reporting to the Beacon Centre Manager. There is an Occupational Requirement that our instructors are Christians who are committed to the values, vision and promises set out on our website. The position is residential with an allowance and full board provided.

Successful applicants will require an enhanced DBS check.
