The Beacon Activity Centre is looking for a manager to facilitate the delivery of the vision statement: ‘To help young people “Discover more about themselves each other and God.”’
The role involves overall responsibility for the day to day running of The Beacon Activity Centre, working closely with the Head of Y&C Ministries to direct the future development of programming and activities, and ensuring the Health and Safety standards are met. As we currently hold the Adventuremark (AAIAC), Learning Outside the Classroom Award and AHOEC Gold Standard, we are keen for the successful applicant to continue the work in training, programme development and safety management to ensure the quality of provision is developed.
You will need to be able to demonstrate extensive outdoor activity leadership experience and a range of NGB qualifications in outdoor activities; as a minimum Mountain Leader Summer (MLS) and either Climbing Wall Instructor (CWI) or Rock-Climbing Instructor (RCI.)
As centre manager, you will be working and living as part of the Christian Community at Lee Abbey, Devon reporting to the Head of Youth & Children’s Ministries. There is an Occupational Requirement that our instructors are Christians who are committed to the values, vision and promises set out on our website. The position is residential with an allowance and full board provided.
Successful applicants will require an enhanced DBS check.
