Description
What is stress, and how is it different from intense pressure? How can you recognise it and what can you do about it?
Whether the stress is falling upon you or someone close to you, this invaluable book identifies causes and symptoms of stress and looks at contributory factors such as changes in our lives, self expectation and expectation from others.
Insight into Stress offers a basic understanding of stress, how it arises and also a challenge to confront the deeper issues that stress presents in order to discover how God wants us to live.
Issues covered include:
- Recognising warning signs
- Coping with the demands and expectations of ourselves and others
- Feeling a lack of purpose
- Living with change.
Also included are helpful diagrams, biblical and individual case studies and personal application. This book is an invaluable tool for understanding and finding release from stress, whether personally or in aiming to help others. It draws on case studies and Scripture to provide practical help, each chapter ends with personal application pointers and there are useful references to other books quoted.
The Waverley Abbey Insight Series is based on one-day seminars held by CWR at Waverley Abbey House to give insight into some key issues that many people struggle with today.
