The seven ‘I am’ sayings – A poetic journey into the mystery and beauty of John’s Gospel

8–12 July 2019 (Mon–Fri)

During the course of this week we will explore the seven great ‘I AM’ sayings in John’s Gospel, in which we encounter Jesus as Bread, Light, the Door, the Good Shepherd, the Resurrection, the Way, the Truth and the Life, and the Vine. Drawing on the sequence of seven sonnets on these sayings in his book ‘Parable and Paradox’, Malcolm will open out what these sayings mean for us in daily life and in our prayer life and offer us a chance to make our own creative response to them.

“It is so easy to come here; the whole environment feels welcoming, understanding and supportive. This is a really special place where Christians and non-Christians alike can feel welcome.” — A recent guest
