Signs of Life!

29 Sep–3 Oct 2025 (Mon–Fri)

We are surrounded by signs and symbols in our everyday life which communicate so many things without words. Christians have long used symbols, from the secret sign of the fish in the early days to the wearing of a cross to declare our faith today. Come and explore the symbols used within the church and consider whether they can still speak words of life today.

Alongside sketchbook work you might try chiselling a fish in a stone, painting a dove or a flame or creating a palm cross. We’ll respond creatively as we explore this subject.

Who's speaking?

Lynne Pugh

Lynne is married with four grown up children and lives near Andover in Hampshire. She has been a full-time artist for 20 years after M.E meant she could no longer continue teaching art in schools.. Working regularly Spring Harvest as the Artist in Residence, Lynne also leads watercolour classes on their French holiday site. She loves to work at Christian festivals and events, painting large pictures during worship, and leading workshops. Typically, her week is spent teaching adult art classes, painting commissions and also ‘pictures with a message’. You can see some of her paintings at www.lynnepugh.co.uk.
