Perfectly Imperfect

27 Apr–1 May 2026 (Mon–Fri)

Most of us worry that we aren’t good enough to follow Jesus, let alone lead. Many of us have imposter syndrome. Yet, throughout history and scripture, God has called broken, flawed people to be not only his followers but also leaders. The heroes of the Bible aren’t actually all that heroic! During our time together we’ll be focussing in on some heroes of scripture and learning from their brokenness. God doesn’t call us to have everything sorted, he calls us so that he can bring hope and transformation to our lives and the lives of those around us.

Who's speaking?

Bishop James and Liz Grier

James is a Plymouth lad, who can’t believe that he gets to be the Bishop of Plymouth. He’s at his happiest when with people and drinking coffee. Liz is a scientist, harpist and theologian. She’s currently doing a curacy, is an associate lecturer at St Mellitus, Plymouth and studying for a PhD in the psalms. She’s at her happiest when she’s near or in the sea. Together they have 2 sons and a daughter-in-law. They have also written a book together, Normal Imperfect Heroes
