More than a Tradition: Palm Sunday

27–31 March 2026 (Fri–Tue)

This programme is rooted in the rhythm of the community’s daily spirituality of prayer, worship, word and creative reflection. We will journey each day with the followers and foes of Jesus during his last days leading to Jerusalem and Palm Sunday’s Hosannas.
Palm Sunday features in all four gospels – it is far more than a tradition – it is His Story, and it is our story. Through the timeless narrative of the gospels, we will ask which crowd are we in?

Who's speaking?

Kelvin Burke

Originally from Northern Ireland, Kelvin is an Anglican minister and Healthcare Chaplain. Ordained in 1999 and licensed as NHS Hospital Chaplain in 2006. After his time as Priest-in-charge in Wakefield, Kelvin was called to Minister in Healthcare Chaplaincy, starting out as Honorary Chaplain at Pinderfield’s Hospital where he had been an inpatient for ten months in 1979/80 following a Road Traffic Accident which left him paraplegic. He was appointed Chaplain at Leeds Teaching Hospitals during which time he attained a Masters in Theology. In 2010 he moved with his wife Jennie and three teenage daughters (Chloé, Katie and Ellie) to the Isle of Wight, and after a short time was appointed Senior Chaplain of Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Mountbatten Hospice. He retired from whole time chaplaincy in 2018.
