From Big Bang to Biology: Life the Universe and Everything

6–10 October 2025 (Mon–Fri)

Can real scientists have a religious faith? Are science and faith compatible? Graham and John have found that the more we push the frontiers of our scientific understanding, the harder it gets to dismiss a belief in a Creator God! Be immersed in the awe-inspiring story of the cosmic history from the Big Bang to life on Earth. How did it all happen? Did it all – could it all – have happened by ‘blind chance’ Come and celebrate God’s revelation in nature in this, the 7th in the series of ‘Big Bang to Biology’ conference weeks.

Who's speaking?

Graham Swinerd

Graham Swinerd is currently a writer, speaker and a University Visitor at Southampton University. He was a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society throughout his working life, and is now an advisor to Lee Abbey on their star-gazing activity. Having spent most of his life as an agnostic scientist, he is now a passionate advocate for the view that science is God’s revelation in Nature.

John Bryant

John Bryant is Emeritus Professor of Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Exeter. He has researched for many years on plant genes and DNA but has always retained his passion for the natural environment. He is a former Chair of Christians in Science and a Past-President of the Society for Experimental Biology. He now writes, speaks and broadcasts on science, science-faith issues and bioethics.
