From his home base in Bethany where he felt loved and supported in the family life of Mary, Martha and Lazarus, Jesus sets out on the perilous final journey to Jerusalem. In Bethany Jesus performs the last of the seven signs in John’s Gospel; the raising of Lazarus – foretelling Jesus’ own Resurrection – and utters the last of the ‘I AM’ statements. In Jerusalem Jesus confronts the powers that be, but never stops teaching, healing, fearlessly true to his calling.
In the lead up to Easter we’ll explore the significance of Bethany and Jerusalem and follow Jesus on the journey between.
