Advent Silent Retreat

22–26 November 2021 (Mon–Fri)

‘The light shines in the darkness and the darkness can never extinguish it’. In preparation for the new day dawning we will shine a light on some of the hidden crevices of our souls and do some early Spring cleaning and restoration.  We will spend time putting the spotlight on the unique beauty of our own lives, exploring the facets, (gifts, talents, attitudes…) that reflect the Light of Christ.  We will then spend some time simply Sunbathing – in mid-winter!!  We will use ancient patterns of prayer and reflection in contemporary ways to help us become more effective witnesses of the true Light, who gives light to everyone.  This will be a silent retreat but there will be opportunity for sharing and prayer.  It would be a good introduction to taking extended ‘time out’ for personal reflection for anyone who has never had a retreat before.

The House will be in silence from Monday evening to Thursday lunchtime.

I don’t want to go home!
